EKIP represents its members in relations with the French authorities and with all
professions in the wheat and flour industry: crop growers, millers, ingredient
manufacturers, traditional bakers and confectioners, industrial bakers and
confectioners, and supermarkets. Through ASYFEB, the association uniting SYNEG
(the French association of catering equipment manufacturers) and EKIP, it is a
member of FIM (the French federation of mechanical industries), which works to
defend the interests of the profession.

EKIP created and manages the day-to-day running of EBEMA (European Bakery Equipment Manufacturers Association).
EBEMA has eight member countries.
Its purpose is to defend and organise the interests of equipment manufacturers at a European level. For example, EBEMA has formed a group of experts who draw up standards for the principal machines used in baking.
